Join us for Wine and Spoon at Mercantile in Gardiner, New York on September 26th from 6-8PM.
Come out to enjoy plant-based bites from vegan chef and plant-based consultant Rebecca Carucci. Vegan Wines Founder Frances Gonzalez will also be there sharing red and white wines to pair with Rebecca’s dishes! The dessert will be Mercantile distilled fruit brandies made from local fruits and berries. Its 100% delicious! See below for details on our hosts.
In the future, we hope to host a monthly event at Mercantile to educate guests in a fun environment. We want people to understand that we are promoting veganism not to judge, but to allow people to enjoy a night of good food, drinks, and laughter!

Rebecca Carucci – Vegan Chef and Plant-Based Consultant – Certified in Plant-Based Nutrition
Rebecca is committed to making the people around her healthier and happier. She decided to become vegan over three years ago, and like many others, she didn’t know where to begin. Rebecca began fully immersing herself in the plant-based world by cooking, reading, taking classes, and attending plant-based events. She obtained her Plant-Based Nutrition Certificate through the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies at Cornell.
Some of the services that she provides include personalized meal planning and guidance, cooking lessons, group instruction, and health coaching. She also provides healthy takeout meals to families in her community so that they can sample plant-based meals and have a healthy alternative to the take-out options currently offered. She has catered events like the Veggies and Vino event at Whitecliff Vineyard.
Her specialty is veganizing classic, non-vegan recipes and she enjoys the challenge of getting people excited about vegan food!
Frances Gonzalez – Founder and Owner of Vegan Wines
Frances is an experienced professional in the wine industry from New York, New York. As a wine expert and long-time vegan, she is the Founder and President of Vegan Wines, a completely vegan-friendly wine club, and Despacito Distributors, a plant-based wine distribution company.
Frances has acquired nuanced expertise in the wine industry through her work building these companies. Her background, however, delves deeper than entrepreneurship. She is also an active member of Women of the Vine & Spirits, an organization in which she coordinates events that foster a supportive environment for females in the alcoholic beverage industry.
Frances also has extensive experience in the vegan and plant-based market across the nation and internationally. Aside from researching and traveling to vineyards, she has sponsored conferences like the Plant Based World Expo and Miami Seed Food & Wine Week, as well as vegan dinners by the James Beard Foundation. Frances is also the founder of VegFest Puerto Rico, a festival that focuses on creating a community of people who appreciate vegan products, food, and beverages. Recently, she was a speaker on the plant-based panel at the 2019 American Culinary Federation National Convention.
