Women of the Vine & Spirits Ambassadorship and Women's Vegan Dinner

At Vegan Wines, we’ve got some big news for the new year! I’ve been selected as a Brand Ambassador for the amazing group known as Women of the Vine & Spirits. They’re a network of female leaders in the alcohol industry, and I’m excited to be a part of this community! As a Brand Ambassador, I hope to get involved by using my platform and resources here at Vegan Wines to help with WOTVS events and gatherings, as well as social media outreach. I’d love to increase awareness about this incredible group of women, their skills, and the support that this association offers women as they kick off their journeys and advance in the alcohol industry. It’s just so exciting that a group like this exists, and it’s the perfect opportunity for me to share with others all the things I’ve learned while starting Vegan Wines. And I’m getting involved right away! (The timing just seemed too perfect not to.) I’m thrilled to share with you that Vegan Wines will be participating in one of their first events of the spring: “Women Curating the Future of Food… A ‘Plantiful’ Dining Experience.” Women of the Vine & Spirits is partnering with Women Chefs and Restaurateurs to host this special vegan dinner at the James Beard Foundation House on International Women’s Day, March 8th. Wine pairings will be sponsored by members of Women of the Vine & Spirits… including Vegan Wines! And all the wines served at the dinner will come from wineries where the proprietor and/or winemaker is a woman. We’ll be sponsoring the wine to pair with two of the evening’s courses. I won’t give away anything from their exquisite vegan menu, but we’ve worked directly with the wineries to pair these wines with the dishes. We’ve selected wine from Burgess Cellars where the winemaker is Kelly Woods and fellow WOTVS Brand Ambassador Elizabeth Miller is the Director of Winery Hospitality. We’ve also chosen a wine from Thumbprint Cellars where Erica and Scott Lindstrom-Drake are the proprietors. This event is the third dinner in which Women Chefs and Restaurateurs have collaborated with the James Beard Foundation. Vice President of the WCR Chef Nina Curtis is chairing this event and she’s also cooking! She’s been a vegan for over 17 years and specializes in creating gourmet vegan and raw dishes, including desserts! Other awesome females cooking at this dinner include vegan chef Sophia Hoffman and super successful food truck owner Carrie Summer.
Update: They've released the menu! Check it out here on the JBF website!
Vegan Wines is so happy to be part of an event that empowers women and spreads the vegan movement. We hope that both of these ideas will continue to play a big role in 2018! Cheers!
